Milton Street Hockey back for 2023 – age K-5 welcome to sign up

We are pleased to announce the return of Milton Street Hockey for the 2023 spring season. All children grade K-5th are welcome to sign up and will be placed on a team at the appropriate age level. In past years we have had three divisions K-1st, 2nd-3rd, and 4th-5th grades with 4 teams in each division. There will be a regular season and then 2 weeks of playoffs where teams will again compete for the coveted Milton Cup! This is a recreational league where any and all skill level are welcome and teams are put together with the intention of parity, fun, and equal playing time.

This is a street hockey league where games will be played on a tennis/basketball court surface, so sneakers are fine. No rollerblades needed or permitted. Hockey Helmets, gloves, and a hockey/street hockey stick are required. Any other equipment is optional. The league will provide the hockey nets, hockey balls, and goalie equipment. The league will also provide referees for the games.

Games are played on Friday afternoons from late April until mid June (April 28th-June 16th. We usually have a rain out or two in which case emails will be sent out the day of.

Starting times for the games are 4pm through 6:15pm with the younger groups playing during the earlier times. Games will be played at Cunningham Park tennis courts as in past years, with the addition this year of the newly minted street hockey court at Cunningham. If you haven’t seen it yet, please check it out! Great place to get some practice in before the season starts.

This league has grown from 15 to over 250 players over the past 8 years, and we look forward to continuing the fun this spring. Even if your son/daughter is already signed up for a spring activity, and can’t make it every week, no worries they are more than welcome to sign up.

Coaches/Sponsors

Coaches are needed at all levels no experience needed! Please let us know when signing your son/daughter up if you would be open to coaching a team. We will try to have multiple coaches to help, so if you may miss a week don’t worry.
