Artful Stories: Paintings from Historic New England is open to the public at the Eustis Estate in Milton. The exhibition brings together paintings from ten different Historic New England house museums as well as from collections storage. The paintings date from 1734 to 2018 and offer a great opportunity to compare and contrast paintings never before seen together. The exhibition explores what it is about New England’s architecture, landscapes, and people that give the region its unique character. Discover formal portraits by well-known artists, pictures of people at work and at home, rural and urban landscapes, interiors that reflect a designer’s eye for color or a family’s affection for their ancestral home, coastal and mountain images, and views of places New Englanders experienced abroad.

Artful Stories is on display Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Time entry tickets must be purchased in advance. Historic New England is following all state, local and CDC guidelines. Masks and social distancing are required for all staff and visitors. Please call 617-994-6600 for more information. Historic New England members and Milton residents are free.
