It’s “Stringtime” in Milton

No need to get dressed up.  Don’t even worry about the parking.  On Sunday April 3rd at 4:00 p.m., Symphony Hall comes to you. Make your plans now to attend “It’s Stringtime!”, a Milton Community Concert featuring artists from the and the Boston Pops.  Violinist Bonnie Bewick Brown, cellist Jennifer Lucht, and pianist Timothy Steele combine forces on a diverse, virtuostic, and entertaining program you won’t want to miss.  Come experience all this in a beautiful historic venue, the Meetinghouse at First Parish Church of Milton (535 Canton Avenue).

Bonnie Bewick Brown has played in the Boston Symphony since 1987.  She has appeared as soloist with the Boston Pops under John Williams and Keith Lockhart as well as with the New England Philharmonic and the Cape Ann Symphony.  In addition to her classical playing she also has a passion for many forms of traditional and folk music, as demonstrated in her performances in the Boston Pops Celtic Sojourn with Brian Donovan and the folk music ensemble Childsplay.

Jennifer Lucht has played with the Boston Pops and has also performed all over the country as a member of the Calyx Piano Trio.  She is also the director and co-founder of the Carolina Chamber Music Festival in New Bern, North Carolina.  She has performed at the Kennedy Center, Weill Recital Hall, the Ravinia Festival, and on an NPR live broadcast of “Performance Today”.

Timothy Steele has extensive experience as a collaborative pianist in both vocal and instrumental repertoire.  Currently he is in his twenty-fifth year on the opera faculty at the New England Conservatory, and has played at virtually all the major performances venues in Boston with the Handel and Haydn Society, Emmanuel Music, and the Commonwealth Shakespeare Company, among others.

The program will feature classical works (Ravel’s piano trio, Beethoven’s Spring Sonata) and fiddle pieces by Paul Schoenfield (Four Souvenirs) and Mark O’Connor (Limerock).
