Milton Public Schools Superintendent’s Feb. 11 E-Blast:

One of my favorite programs in the Milton Public Schools is the Future Problem Solving Program. This is a program which started in our elementary schools more than two decades ago and expanded to include our Pierce Middle School four years ago.

The Future Problem Solving program (FPS) is a great way to encourage students’ creativity and also to improve oral and written communication, research, and teamwork skills. FPS helps students to apply information they have learned to some of the most complex issues facing society. FPS is a yearlong program, in which teams of four students learn a six-step problem solving process which they can then use to solve social and scientific problems set in the future.
