Bike light giveaway to be held tomorrow by Milton Bike Advisory Committee

When: Thursday, November 16th, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Where: New section of the Neponset River Greenway trail, Milton

As the days get shorter and the sun sets earlier, the Milton Bike Advisory Committee wants to help area cyclists be safe and be seen. According to MassBike (the state wide bike advocacy group), only 20 percent of bike rides happen after sunset, but more than 50 percent of bike fatalities happen during those hours. While some people put their bikes away for the season this time of year, many others continue to ride and may find themselves caught in the dark. A good set of bike lights will help those riders be seen by other road users.

On Thursday, November 16th, the Bike Committee will be stationed along the new section of the Neponset River Greenway trail and will install a set of high quality LED bike lights on the bike of every rider that would like one. Look for the blinking lights near the Harvest River Bridge between the hours of 3pm and 6pm. In case of inclement weather the event will be rescheduled.

For more information contact the committee via [email protected] or BikeMilton on Facebook.
