With support from the Celebrity Series of Boston’s Neighborhood Arts program, Boston City Singers is collaborating with three amazing artists for an exciting week of drumming, singing, art-making, creativity and fun for children ages 9-12.

This First Annual February Vacation Arts Camp will take place from Tuesday, February 18 to Saturday, February 22, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. weekdays at the Epiphany School in Dorchester. A Saturday showcase, open to the community free of charge and featuring all the campers and their artistic educators, is scheduled for Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Dorchester’s Boston Home.

The camp is being hosted by Boston City Singers and the tablas are being provided free of charge during the camp courtesy of Dartmouth College Music Department. “We’ve been given such a gift from the Celebrity Series,” said Jane Money, Founding Artistic Director of Boston City Singers. “Where else would children be able to learn from such remarkable talent in their own backyard?”

Featured artists include:

  • SANDEEP DAS – Tabla virtuoso, composer, internationally-acclaimed Grammy award-winner
  • BOSTON CITY SINGERS – providing innovative music training for singers since 1995
  • DOTART – creating art-making opportunities for Dorchester children since 1998*
  • DEVIN FERREIRA – Spoken Word/Hip-Hop Artist and Saxophonist

The cost for the week-long camp is $300 and space is limited. Financial assistance is available based on need and availability. To accommodate family work schedules, Boston City Singers is providing additional hours of child supervision from 8:00-9:00 a.m. and/or 4:30-5:30 p.m. at an additional cost.
