Town of Milton Spring Hydrant Flushing

On Tuesday, April 22, 2025, the Town of Milton will begin our Spring Hydrant Flushing program. Work will take place from 7:00 p.m. – midnight (3 nights a week) for approximately 10 weeks or until work is completed (weather permitting).

Hydrant Flushing is an important maintenance activity that verifies proper operation of the hydrants, evaluates flow, and allows for removal of mineral and sediment build ups. During the process, you may experience difference in the water pressure as well as some discoloration. This process typically takes approximate 30 – 60 minutes when working is ongoing in your area.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Department of Public Works at 617-898-4900.
