Honoring health equity and legacy: Book talk on June 17 at Milton Public Library
Milton resident Deborah Bingham is offering an in-person presentation in the Keys Room on Tuesday, June 17, at 7:00 p.m. to tell us all about her son’s book called: “Ripples of Hope in the Mississippi Delta: Charting the Health Equity Policy Agenda.” The author was David K. Jones of Milton (1981-2021), who was tragically killed in September 2021 in a preventable accident.
In the book, Mr. Jones describes how a community-led, goal-oriented approach to creating health equity policies is needed and that everyone benefits when we ensure that all people can pursue a healthy, fulfilling life. Debra is the founder and CEO of the Institute for Perinatal Quality Improvement, LLC and is the mother of Prof. Jones.
She has been carrying on her son’s work on this topic on behalf of David’s beloved family. No advance registration is required to attend, and other speakers will include Fifi Diop, MD, and Prof. Nicole Huberfeld who co-edited the book. There will also be a film shown at this event.
