Milton Select Board and Governor Stoughton Trustees to meet June 30 at Council on Aging
The Milton Select Board and Trustees of the Governor Stoughton Trust will hold a joint meeting on Monday, June 30, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. in the Paul Kelly Community Room at the Council on Aging, located at 10 Walnut Street. The session will also be accessible via Zoom for remote participation.
The meeting opens with the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by a recess to convene the Trustees of the Governor Stoughton Trust, where the Trustees will receive a report from the Town Farm Review Committee, approve meeting minutes from March 11 and May 21, 2025, and then adjourn.
Upon reconvening, the Select Board will open the floor to public comment, before addressing a packed agenda that includes:
A presentation from Susan Milliken and Steven Geyster regarding the Neponset River Superfund Project and a related public hearing letter;
A review and potential approval of the MBTA Communities Act District Compliance Application;
Anti-bias training discussions;
Fiscal year-end updates and transfer approvals, including a request to increase revolving fund spending limits;
Defining the Budget Coordination Committee’s charge and membership;
A potential contract with Capital Strategic Solutions for a financial and operational review;
Updates and decisions on liquor license zones in connection to House Bill 4089 and the Home Rule Petition;
A planning update for the upcoming October 27, 2025 Fall Special Town Meeting;
Discussion on the future of the East Milton Fire Station (525 Adams Street) and the Request for Proposals process;
An evaluation of the Town Administrator, and an amendment to the employment agreement concerning performance evaluation.
The Board will also consider dozens of committee appointments and reappointments, including:

Shade Tree Advisory Committee

Equity and Justice for All Advisory Committee

Meeting minutes from May 27 will be reviewed, and reports will be delivered by the Town Administrator and the Board Chair.
The meeting concludes with public comment responses, planning for future meetings on July 8 and 22, and agenda item previews.
Two executive sessions are scheduled to address:
Potential litigation regarding the MBTA Communities Act;
Collective bargaining negotiations involving multiple unions including Milton firefighters, police, and clerical units.
