Cradles to Crayons’ BIG Spring-Cleaning Clothing Collection Day to take place May 13

Spring Cleaning has many of us emptying our closets to make room for warmer-weather clothing. And the new Massachusetts Textile Ban means our textiles – like clothing – are banned from being thrown away.

Cradles to Crayons® has an urgent need for children’s items and is asking parents and caregivers from around the Commonwealth to join “The BIG Spring Cleaning Clothing Collection Day” by dropping off quality children’s clothes and shoes at a local Cradles to Crayons Drop Off site – there are dozens of locations throughout Massachusetts! This event is part of Cradles to Crayons’ annual Spring Greening initiative.

This is an easy way to give gently used children’s items a second life and help support Cradles to Crayons’ Goal of Ending Clothing Insecurity for Children. Here [VIDEO] is what happens to donations when they come to Cradles to Crayons and how they get distributed to children in need across the state.

“Cradles to Crayons makes it easy to donate clothing items that are still in good condition with convenient drop boxes located throughout the community,” said Aubrey Henderson, Cradles to Crayons Executive Director. “Recycling these items by donating them to us means they will go directly to a child in need in Massachusetts, free of charge.”

Cradles to Crayons provides children from birth through age 12, living in homeless or low-income situations, with the essential items they need to thrive—at home, at school, and at play—for free.
