Fun social distancing summer activities for the family: strawberry picking

It’s strawberry picking season in MA!  It’s the perfect outdoor activity to do with the whole family.

Due to social distancing protocols, most farms have implemented new rules. Check out some of the farms that will be open for strawberry picking fun for you and your family! 

Verrill Farm

Opens: Mid June (aiming for 6/15)

Cost: $7 field pass for all strawberry pickers over the age of 5

Special restrictions: Must call 978-369-4494 to reserve your spot ahead of time, bring your own face mask (required), do not bring your own container because they will be provided

Boston Hill Farm

Opens: Mid June

Cost: Each person over 3 is required to purchase one quart for $8.00 to enter the field

Special restrictions: Limited number of strawberry pickers allowed to enter the fields daily, bring your own face mask (required), do not bring your own container because they will be provided. Call 508-655-5022 for more information.

Russell Orchards

NOW OPEN

Cost: $4 entry fee for all strawberry pickers over the age of 4

Special restrictions: Limited number of strawberry pickers are allowed to enter the fields at any given time, bring your own face mask (required), do not bring your own container because they will be provided. Call 978-356-5366 for more information.

C.N. Smith Farm

NOW OPEN

Cost: $15 for three people and three-pound minimum. Any additional people added to your reservation is an additional $5.

Special restrictions: Please make a reservation here. Bring your own face mask (required), do not bring your own container because they will be provided.

Marini Farm

Opens: Mid June (aiming for June 15)

Cost: Tickets on sale soon

Special restrictions: All tickets must be purchased online beforehand, bring your own face mask (required), do not bring your own container because they will be provided.

Cider Hill Farm

Opens: June 15

Cost: $8 entry fee for all strawberry pickers over the age of 3, includes 1-quart picking container

Special restrictions: You must reserve your spot online beforehand, bring your own face mask (required), do not bring your own container because they will be provided.
