Random Review Wednesday: Quick, healthy lunches and snacks

I work a lot.

I hate stopping to cook or go out for lunch.

I am frequently on the go and need to be able to make something, quickly, and sometimes need to take it with me.

I like to eat organic, healthy food – and love to eat a lot of vegetables.

I’ve found a quick, organic solution, which allows me to eat a lot of vegetables and fruit, without having to leave my house, and without spending more than 5 minutes to prepare: Daily Harvest.

I order a box of 12 “cups,” which can be in the form of smoothies, harvest bowls, soups, lattes, oat bowls, and chia bowls. (You can get 3 FREE CUPS with code RE-878DTT5).

Typically, I order mostly harvest bowls & soups, with maybe one or two smoothies. Although the smoothies are delicious, I prefer to eat more vegetables than fruit.

The best thing about Daily Harvest is it feels like you have a personal chef cooking delicious and nutritious food for you, every day. And there’s no “fast food guilt.”

My favorite harvest bowls include:

  • Cauliflower Rice + Pesto
  • Brussels Sprouts + Tahini
  • Butternut Squash + Chimichurri
  • Quinoa + Chipotle
  • Red Lentil + Cumin
  • Beet + Avocado Poke
  • Broccoli + Cheeze

My favorite soups include:

  • Mushroom + Miso
  • Avocado + Cucumber Cool Blended Soup
  • Asparagus + Cashew Blended Soup

My favorite smoothies include:

  • Strawberry + Peach
  • Mint + Cacao
  • Apple + Greens

I honestly haven’t tried the other options – again, because the goal is – VEGETABLES! – but I’m sure they’re delicious.

The prices really aren’t bad – always cheaper than my previous go-to, the salad bar. Plus, they’re organic! I order 12 cups at a time, about 2-3 weeks per month, and they go straight into my freezer to be used as needed.  The 12 cup plan is only $7.49 per cup but if you go to the 24 cup plan (you’ll need freezer space for this!) they are only $6.99 per cup.

To prepare the smoothies, I add liquid and blend, and to prepare the harvest bowls or soup bowls, I add water and heat up. These are all vegetarian options, but I will often add some turkey or chicken, if I have it on hand, or a scoop of protein powder to the smoothies – to beef them up.

Check out Daily Harvest today – and start working on eating healthier!
