Turner’s Pond surface is deceptive.

Winter is here and with that will come frozen bodies of water. Milton’s Turner’s Pond is one location that will freeze each winter. Turner’s is very deep with underground springs. This makes the ice freeze unevenly with many thin pockets across the surface.

To many, especially an unsuspecting young person, this frozen surface can appear safe. IT IS NOT. For this reason, it is prohibited.

We ask that you share this important information with your children. The Milton Public Schools will be sharing this info with staff and students as well. Don’t be fooled by the natural appearance of the frozen surface.

Just this past weekend, two children fell through thin ice on a pond in Brockton. These types of accidents can be fatal.
