Beloved Miltonite and funeral home owner, Alfred D. Thomas, dies at 91

Alfred D. Thomas, owner of Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home, died Tuesday morning at Brigham and Women’s Hospital at 91.

“The phone hasn’t stopped ringing,” said his nephew Brian Fitzgerald.

A veteran of World War II, Mr. Thomas was active in the community. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club of Milton, Quincy Neighborhood Club, American Legion Post 114 in Milton, Milton Merchants, Quincy Elks, Milton Lions Club, Milton Historical Society, and the Knights of Columbus Council 2749.

“He was a part of everything,” Fitzgerald said.
