Annual Blue Hills Winter Fest set at Blue Hills Ski Area

When: Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Where: Blue Hills Ski Area, 4001 Washington St, Canton, MA

The Friends of the Blue Hills will be hosting their annual Winter Fest on Tuesday, February 28, from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., at Blue Hills Ski Area. For those hoping to get some winter exercise, there will be downhill skiing and a guided night hike under the lights. There will be plenty of indoor fun, too. Adults and children alike can do a jig to the spirited Irish tunes of Songs for Ceilidh, sample some of the area’s best chili, make some creative winter crafts, or just warm up in front of the fireplace in the cozy ski lodge.

As added enticement, Blue Hills Ski is offering discounted rates of $20 each for all-day lift tickets, ski rentals, or lessons that evening. To receive the discount, print out and bring the Friends of the Blue Hills website or Facebook page.

Four local restaurants will be competing in the Chili Cook-off that night: The Fours in Quincy; Queen Anne’s Restaurant in Canton; Chili’s in Braintree; and Whole Foods in Dedham. Local elected and town officials will serve as judges in the “Battle of the Blue Hills” chili competition.

Winter Fest is co-sponsored by Coldwell Banker in Milton and is just one of many free events the Friends of the Blue Hills sponsors throughout the year to encourage people to explore and enjoy the Blue Hills Reservation.
