First “Surfin’ Cinema” to be JAWS

Also there will be a “Surfin’ Cinema” series which consists of 3 Thursday afternoon movies shown starting at 2:00 p.m.  The first one is the exciting and beloved “Jaws” to be shown on Thursday, July 13th.  Directed by Steven Spielberg, this film set the standard for edge-of-your-seat suspense, quickly becoming a cultural phenomenon and forever changing the movie industry.  When the seaside community of Amity finds itself under attack by a dangerous great white shark, the town’s chief of police (Roy Scheider), a young marine biologist (Richard Dreyfuss) and a grizzled shark hunter (Robert Shaw) embark on a desperate quest to destroy the beast before it strikes again.  Featuring an unforgettable score that evokes pure terror, “Jaws” remains one of the most influential and gripping adventures in motion picture history.  It is rated PG and the running time is 2 hours, 4 minutes.  It is not suitable for young children.

All of these programs are kindly sponsored by the Friends of the Milton Public Library, are free and open to the public, and are held in the Keys Community Room, unless otherwise noted.  Contact Jean Hlady, Adult Services Librarian, at 617-698-5757, x. 3 for more information.  The Milton Public Library is located at 476 Canton Avenue.
