Florence Foster Jenkins to play for Tuesday Night at the Movies

There will be several films shown at the library this summer, and our “Tuesday Night at the Movies” first pic is “Florence Foster Jenkins” starring Meryl Streep which will be screened at 6:30 p.m. on July 18th.   This is the hilarious story of Mrs. Jenkins, a New York socialite who dreams of becoming a great opera singer.  The incredible true tale describes the beautiful voice she hears in her head, but to everyone else it is completely awful – however her husband, St. Clair Bayfield (Hugh Grant) – is determined to protect his beloved wife from the truth.  A huge concert at Carnegie Hall poses him his greatest challenge to make sure Florence’s performance is a rousing success.  You should really enjoy this fun comedy, which is rated PG-13 “for brief suggestive material” and the running time is 110 minutes.

All of these programs are kindly sponsored by the Friends of the Milton Public Library, are free and open to the public, and are held in the Keys Community Room, unless otherwise noted.  Contact Jean Hlady, Adult Services Librarian, at 617-698-5757, x. 3 for more information.  The Milton Public Library is located at 476 Canton Avenue.
