Celebrated musician and world record holder Cory Pesaturo will be the featured performer for “Record Setter”, this year’s inaugural concert of Milton Community Concerts at First Parish of Milton on Saturday, December 2nd at 7:00 p.m. Corey previously was featured in an MCC concert in February of 2015.

This renowned jazz accordionist recently submitted his claim for a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records for continuous playing (32 hours, 14 minutes) during a marathon session in Graz, Austria. Previously he also earned the distinction of being the only accordionist to have ever won World Championships in Acoustic, Digital, and Jazz accordion.

Cory has had a busy international performing career for many years. He performed numerous times at the White House for President Bill Clinton and was the youngest performer ever to appear at a State dinner, for the President of Hungary. He has played with Johnny Depp on the Late Show with David Letterman and on nationally televised programs in New Zealand, Canada, Italy, Tunisia, France, and Finland. He is the first accordionist ever to major and graduate from the New England Conservatory.

Accordion legend Dick Contino heard Cory at age 15 and stated “Of all the accordionists I’ve seen over the years, Cory is the one to pass the torch to, the only one who has all the tools to bring the accordion back to its former glory.” Cory has given the only TED talk ever about the accordion, in which he shared his visionary thinking of how the accordion should be used, played, and presented in modern music.

He has performed with jazz legends Quincy Jones and Winton Marsalis, among many others. Locally he has also played numerous times on the Felger and Mazz sports radio show at 98.5 The Sports Hub.

Tickets for this concert will be $20 general admission, $10 for seniors 65 and over, and free to 18 and under. First Parish Church of Milton is located at 535 Canton Avenue. Ample free parking is available. For more information visit miltoncommunityconcerts.com.
