Milton Interfaith Clergy Association protested Congress’ inaction in response to gun violence

Milton churches recognized the 17 who lost their lives in the recent Parkland, FL shooting

The Milton Interfaith Clergy Association called on all Milton churches to ring their steeple bells for 17 minutes starting at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 14th, the appointed time of the National School Walkout to protest Congress’ inaction to do more than tweet thoughts and prayers in response to the gun violence plaguing our schools and neighborhoods. MICA used the town’s church bells to express Milton’s support for and solidarity with this protest. (The significance of 17 minutes was to recognize the 17 who lost their lives in the recent Parkland, FL shooting.)

East Congregational Church welcomed thirty volunteers, from both the church community and the adjoining neighborhood, who each took a turn ringing the church’s steeple bell.
