Boston City Councilor and Chair of the City’s Civil Rights Committee, Josh Zakim, is expanding his campaign for Secretary of State across the Commonwealth.

Josh is running on a progressive, pro-voting rights platform that seeks to expand citizens’ access to voting registration and ability to turnout on election days.

Josh supports a host of common-sense policies that will help combat low voter turnout and improve registration, including automatic voter registration, same-day registration, ranked choice voting, weekend elections, and no-excuse absentee voting. He is also deeply dedicated to other progressive causes, including standing up for immigrants’ rights and ensuring they feel comfortable filling out the census and interacting with government institutions, standing up for LGBT+ rights, and standing up for a woman’s right to choose.

Before working in politics, Josh worked for Greater Boston Legal Services, defending victims of predatory lenders, after graduating from Northeastern Law and the University of Pennsylvania for his undergrad.

Josh is stepping up his outreach and canvassing program across the state, including two canvasses in the Allston/Brighton area this weekend, and we are reaching out to people all across the greater Boston area, including Milton, to announce the opportunity to get involved with us! There is a phone bank opportunity on Saturday August 4 at 50 Milk St, downtown Boston, and a canvas opportunity on Sunday August 5 from 11-1 – and launch – from 470 Washington Street in Brighton, which is easily accessible by the 57 bus. To RSVP for canvassing this weekend, feel free to reach out to Aislinn (of Zakim’s campaign), at email [email protected] or via cell at (617) 980-8092.
