With sub-freezing temperatures forecasted into next week, people should be reminded that with this winter weather, bodies of water will begin to freeze. Turner’s Pond is one location that freezes each winter.

Turner’s Pond is managed by the Milton Parks and Recreation Department and their rules & regulations prohibit ice skating on the pond. Turner’s Pond is fed by an underground spring which causes the ice to freeze unevenly with many thin pockets.

It is not safe to walk on the frozen pond and it is strictly prohibited.

Please try and help us keep children and pets safe and off the ice, for not only their safety, but for any police, fire and ambulance personnel that would respond in a rescue type emergency.
