Milton Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition to host its next Coalition meeting on January 31st

Margie Skeer to present on youth substance abuse and prevention

Did you know that alcohol is the most commonly used and abused drug among youth in the United States?

The Milton Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition announces its next Coalition meeting, Thursday, January 31st from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital, Milton in the Nangeroni Conference Room. Hear from featured speaker and Milton resident, Margie Skeer, Associate Professor of Public Health and Community Medicine and Interim Director of the Health Communication Program at Tufts University. Professor Skeer’s engaging and easy to understand approach is informed by 15 years of research and expertise on youth substance abuse and prevention. Learn why talking to your kids works, get specific tips on how to talk to your kids and observe practice role-playing. The Coalition’s recently launched ‘Parent Campaign’ to reduce underage drinking will be presented along with the latest Coalition news—and there is plenty!
