Fund set up for local nanny injured in February’s windstorm-related car accident

Milton Neighbors may recall the intense windstorm this past February. Local nanny Shannell Wolf was picking up a child that she watches from Milton’s Village School- with another child in the car – when a massive tree fell on her car, pinning her inside.

Below is the GoFundMe set up by her daughter:

On February 25th, 2019 at approximately 11:15 am, life changed. My mom was sitting in front of the Village School in Milton, MA, about to head in to pick up her little friend with Cora in the backseat. She got out of the car and heard the loud cracking sound of a tree coming her way and decided to get back into the car. The moment she rushed back into the car a huge tree crashed through the windshield.

She opened her eyes to check her surroundings and to see if Cora was okay in the back seat. After realizing she was ok she knew she was in trouble as her body started to go numb from the tree that pinned her right arm. Thankfully the Milton fire and police department came rushing to her aid along with by bystanders. Cora was unharmed, thank God. The fire department successfully removed her from the vehicle and put her in the ambulance to transfer her to Boston Medical. When she arrived at Boston Medical the team of doctors discovered that she had 2 broken vertebrae, a series of fractures in her back, and nerve damage in her right hand. Her vertebrae was fused together during a successful surgery.

She is home now and on the road to recovery with physical therapy, occupational therapy and lots of TLC. We are asking for your help as far as medical bills, living expenses and an array of other expenses that may come her way during this time of healing. We are grateful for every family member, prayer, card, flower and visitor that have helped cheer our mom on. Thank you in advance.
