Vaccine distribution update: Milton Health Department plans to distribute vaccination week of Jan. 11 to first responders

Message from January 5, 2021

The Massachusetts Department of Public Health has directed local public health departments to start the first phase of vaccine administration to Police, Fire and Emergency Medical Services. Milton Health Department is regionally collaborating with Norfolk County-8, (NC-8) a local public health coalition which is comprised of 8 surrounding health departments.

On 1.5.21, 800 doses of Moderna vaccine was delivered to the Norwood Health Department to be split up between the 8 towns.

On the week of 1.11.21 the Milton Health Department is planning to distribute the vaccination to first responders by appointment only. At this time only first responders will be receiving the vaccine. This does not include their family members or ancillary staff.

The Milton Health Department is currently not organizing appointments for the general public to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.

There is no waiting list being created for administration of the COVID vaccine, at this time.
