African dance routines, musicians and poetry – to take place February 4 at Milton Public Library

The first event in our Spring musical series will be a wonderful in person concert on Saturday, 2/4, starting at 2:00 p.m. in the Keys Community Room.

This performance will feature dance, music and spoken word by 12 young talented performers from the Jamaica Plain Cultural Arts Center called OrigiNation.”

This dance and music troupe was founded in 1994 by Artistic Director Shaumba-Yandje Dibinga, and it is part of a non-profit corporation that teaches young people dance and more, with the goal of raising students’ awareness about pertinent social issues.

At this concert you will enjoy a variety of entertainment, including contemporary and African dance routines, musicians and poetry. We hope you might join us for this fun program, which is appropriate for all ages.

No registration is required – just come and bring your friends and family! We hope to see you there.

The Milton Cultural Council has funded the concert, with support by the Friends of the Milton Public Library. For questions or for assistance registering for a program, Email [email protected] or call the Reference Dept. at (617) 898-4964.  The Milton Public Library is located at 476 Canton Avenue.
