Strange New England Folklore virtual program to take place January 31

Outdoor explorer Michael Girard will share some very interesting stories in a virtual program called “Strange New England Folklore” on Tuesday, 1/31, at 7:00 p.m.  Pull up a log (via Zoom) to listen to Mr. Girard’s tales of strange creatures, secret hideouts, cities of gold and lost pirate treasure – all happening in our area.

Most people have never heard of these yarns before – remember: not all folklore is fiction!  The speaker has a website called “Strange New England: A Field Guide to New England’s Legends, Curious History, and Weird Destinations” which began with a need to travel for fun on weekends and evolved into a full-time project and career.  He discusses haunted houses, ancient structures, monsters, mysterious locations, natural wonders and generational tales in this fun and entertaining talk – letting the listener then draw their own conclusions.  Please sign up at our website in advance to receive the Zoom link and to read more details. We hope to see you there!

All of these events are kindly sponsored by the granting agencies and collaborative organizations mentioned previously, and by the Friends of the Milton Public Library.  They are free and open to all.  You may find our website at:  www.miltonlibrary.org, and for any questions, Email [email protected] or call the Reference Dept. at (617) 898-4964.  The Milton Public Library is located at 476 Canton Avenue.
