Celebrating Thato Mwosa’s art at the Milton Public Library’s Wotiz Gallery throughout March

During the month of March, the Milton Public Library will host a wonderful exhibit of paintings and drawings by Milton artist Thato Mwosa.

This artist is an award-winning film writer, director and illustrator. Her work confronts outdated representations and misconceptions about Black womanhood and girlhood. She founded Tuli Media LLC, a multi-media company that promotes a positive narrative of Africa through educational games, artwork, books, and films.

In 2020, Thato launched the first-ever African Trivia Card game, SAWA Trivia, an educational game celebrating African heritage, history, and culture. Thato released a children’s book, 14 African Women Who Made History, the following year which is owned by the MPL if you would like to borrow it.

She has exhibited her artwork in galleries and cafes across New England, including previously here at our Wotiz Gallery. Thato is an Assistant Professor of Screenwriting at Emerson College.

For more information about this talented artist and filmmaker, her website is: Tuliart.com.
