Join the Milton Public Library for “Fragrance in the Garden” with Joanne Pearson on Apr. 29
Photographer and former Landscape Architect Joanne Pearson will return to the MPL in person in our Keys Community Room to give a talk called “Fragrance in the Garden” on Tuesday, April 29, at 7:00 p.m.
Perhaps you have smelled the lovely fragrance of a peony and were immediately transported back to a time long ago in your grandmother’s garden. Have you ever wondered why that is? Ms. Pearson will explain why in this presentation and more.
Accompanied by a vibrant slideshow of Joanne’s photography, in this lecture we’ll look at the amazing things that scent does for a plant (botanically, it is not there for our pleasure!).
We will discuss specific plants, shrubs and trees with fragrant flowers and foliage that can be grown in New England, where to place them in the landscape to maximize our enjoyment of their fragrance throughout the garden. There will also be handout with a list of the specific plants we discuss. Please register here to attend, although walk-ins are also very welcome.
