Milton School Finance Subcommittee to meet August 6 with full School Committee

The Finance Subcommittee of the Milton School Committee will convene alongside the full School Committee on Wednesday, August 6, at 8:00 a.m. in the Superintendent’s Conference Room at Milton High School. The agenda includes a Q4 FY25 Budget Report to be presented by the Assistant Superintendent, along with several key financial planning topics. Among them:

  • A review of the current finance report structure, referencing Massachusetts Association of School Committees (MASC) guidelines and practices for fiscal accounting and budget transfers.

  • Ongoing discussions regarding the creation of a town-wide finance committee and the potential engagement of a finance and budgeting best practices consultant.

  • New business will focus on improving coordination with the Warrant Committee and conducting a review of the Milton Public Schools grants manual.

The committee will also vote on previous meeting minutes and begin planning for the next meeting, which is expected to include a preliminary discussion on the FY26 Budget Recast.
