POLL: Should town-wide elected officials be better compensated?

Milton’s Select Board members are paid a $1500/year stipend for countless hours of work.

And… it should be noted that fewer people seem to be running for most elected positions. It’s not unusual for Milton to have uncontested elections.

Up until a few years ago, Select Board members were eligible to participate in Milton’s health insurance program, which allowed them some additional compensation in the form of coverage. However, Select Board members voted to no longer permit this eligibility in December of 2017.
