Representative Timilty Announces Green Communities Clean Energy Grant for Milton

Representative Walter F. Timilty is pleased to announce that the Town of Milton was chosen as a recipient for a Green Communities Clean Energy Grant. The grant will provide Milton with the financial resources for initiatives, designed to improve energy efficiency.  Moreover, the Green Communities Clean Energy Grant will foster the increased use of renewable energy in the Town of Milton’s public buildings, facilities, and schools.

The Town of Milton was awarded $244,248, as part of this prestigious grant. This sum will be used for exterior lighting retrofits with LEDs at Cunningham Elementary School, Collicot Elementary School, Glover Elementary School, Milton High School, Tucker Elementary School, Pierce Middle School, and our Milton Public Library. Additionally, the grant will provide for interior lighting retrofits with LEDs at Pierce Middle School and all of our elementary schools. Furthermore, the Green Communities Clean Energy Grant will subsidize the installation of walk-in cooler and freezer controls at all of our public educational institutions in the Town of Milton.

Commenting on the Town of Milton having the Green Communities Clean Energy Grant bestowed upon it, Representative Walter F. Timilty stated, “The Green Communities Clean Energy Grant will enable the Town of Milton to avert significant long-term energy costs. Furthermore, this grant will serve to guarantee that Milton continues to be a leader in the areas of clean energy and energy efficiency.”
