From Walter F. Timilty:

On July twenty- ninth, the House of Representatives voted to override the gubernatorial veto of line-item 7030-1002, relative to the issue of Kindergarten Expansion Grants. Through an intensive advocacy campaign amongst his colleagues, Representative Timilty, along with others, successfully, made a case to convince the membership of the House of Representatives that the gubernatorial veto, eliminating monies for Full-Day Kindergarten, should not only be addressed, it should be overridden by the required two-thirds vote. In concert with an overwhelming number of members of the House of Representatives, Timilty, subsequently, has voted to override this gubernatorial veto.

“This is a growing program that will reap enormous dividends in the development of our youngest school-aged children, within the Commonwealth.”

Commenting on this successful override vote, Timilty stated, “This is a growing program that will reap enormous dividends in the development of our youngest school-aged children, within the Commonwealth. It is of great importance to me, that the Commonwealth, provide maximum resources for the exceptional education program that is Full-Day Kindergarten, within our public school systems across the Commonwealth.”

-From the Office of State Representative Walter F. Timilty
