A message from the Milton Police Department:

With a snow storm slated to hit Massachusetts on Thursday 2/9/2017 the Milton Police Department would like to remind residents of the following:

Have Candles or flashlights (check the batteries) in a quickly accessible place. Have non- perishable food on hand. If you need to go to the supermarket please do so today Wednesday, February 8. The Milton Police Department does not allow overnight street parking during the winter months.  Please remove your vehicles from all roadways. If you do not need to travel please stay off the roadways on Thursday. Let our Department of Public Works members clear the roadways.  Please give the plows and sanders the room they need to do their job.

If you have a residential power outage please call Eversource directly at 800-592-2000. Calling Eversource directly will provide Eversource with the information they need to determine effected areas, numbers of customers without power and  this data will be used to make decisions on where to send storm crews.

With the potential of homes to lose power during the Nor’easter we suggest that you turn your heat up during the overnight and morning hours. If you lose power your home will retain heat.

Please be a good neighbor and check on each other. We have attached a link with phone numbers that may be useful.

This is also a great time to sign up for Smart 911. This service will provide first responders with necessary information that could be used if Police, Fire or EMS need to respond to your home.  he registration is free. The web site is secure. Please check out the website at  www.smart911.com

A message from the Milton DPW:

Due to the impending storm ONLY – please have all bins and containers out by 6:00 a.m., or place them out the night before.

Please remember to have your bins and containers BACK from the curb, NOT in the roadway!  Snow plows need to have roadways clear in order to remove snow properly.
