Sustainable Milton and the Milton DPW hosts Milton Clean-Up Day

Sustainable Milton and the Milton DPW will be hosting Milton Clean-Up Day again this year on Saturday April 29, 2017. School groups, sports teams, neighborhood associations, town clubs, Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops and church/temple groups are encouraged to sign up now to take part in this great town-wide event. This is an opportunity to work on areas around town that need a good spring cleaning to maintain Milton’s beauty.

The DPW will provide garbage and recycle bags and work gloves that can be picked up at the DPW the week of the event. If a group cannot work on Saturday, they are more than welcome to schedule their clean-up work on Friday April 28 or Sunday April 30. The Milton DPW crews will finish the job starting on Monday May 1 by collecting the garbage and recycle bags and large debris.

As in the past, groups can spend an hour on a busy street corner or tackle a whole field. Some groups, like the Pine Tree Brook Neighborhood Association, take advantage of having neighbors together and share a BBQ and reconnect after a long winter. Sustainable Milton will host volunteers on Reedsdale Avenue on either side of the hospital entrance.

It’s not too late to start organizing your group and choosing your area to clean up. Please send an email to [email protected] to sign up. Individuals looking to join an existing group are also encouraged to sign up. Please make sure to RSVP with site information so we know where to direct DPW for Monday morning pick-up.

It is sure to be a fun day for a good cause!
