Congregation Beth Shalom of the Blue Hills, formerly Temples Shalom of Milton and Beth El of Quincy, will hold two Open Houses in September for prospective members.

The first Open House will be a “Shabbat Under the Stars” on Friday evening, September 8th. It will begin at 6:30 p.m. with a barbecue (rain or shine), followed at 7:40 p.m. by a Musical Shabbat Service and a Festive Oneg Shabbat dessert. It is free and open to anyone interested in the synagogue and its activities, including its Rabbi Jerome Weistrop Religious School, but RSVP’s are requested.

The second Open House will be on Sunday, September 17th, 10 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Visitors will be able to participate with their children in our Religious School’s Family Rosh Hashanah program. Both Open Houses will be at 18 Shoolman Way (off Lodge Street) in Milton, with overflow parking on Pleasant Street only.

All interested families in the South Shore and Greater Boston area are invited to attend either or both Open Houses. Meet Rabbi Alfred Benjamin and Education Director Nancy Mollitor, learn about the congregation’s programs and activities, tour our new building, and find out about our Special First Year Membership and Religious School rates.

First time attendees to either Open House will receive one complimentary ticket for either our second day Rosh Hashanah Congregational Service or Kol Nidre. In addition, all are invited to attend our First Day Rosh Hashanah afternoon Community Service, 3:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. (no ticket required).

Congregation Beth Shalom of the Blue Hills is also accepting registrations to its Religious School, which meets on Sunday mornings and Tuesday afternoons. The school has small class sizes and a very active and innovative curriculum, including unique holiday celebrations, monthly pre-school-age Story Hour, field trips, Bar/Bat Mitzvah classes, and Holiday Family Activity Days. The school is also a partner in the Passport to Israel Program, which helps fund teen trips to Israel. For Religious School information, call the synagogue office at 617-698-3394.

Congregation Beth Shalom of the Blue Hills welcomes all members of the Jewish faith including LGBT, interfaith couples, and all singles and families interested in affiliating with a Jewish community. For information about membership or programs, call the synagogue office at 617-698-3394, email [email protected] or visit www.BethShalomBlueHills.org.
