Enjoy the view from the top of Chickatawbut Hill while we toast marshmallows around the campfire and enjoy some celestial stories. As darkness descends, we’ll spread out our blankets and star gaze. If we’re lucky, we may see some early falling stars from the Perseid meteor showers.

Please bring bug spray, a blanket and a jacket or sweater. Rain date for this program is Saturday, Aug. 19. This program is not held at the museum. A link to directions to the program site is included in the registration confirmation email.

August 12 is the night of peak meteor activity. Sunset is at 7:49 p.m. The constellation Perseus is in the northeastern sky; the moon rises at 10:39 p.m. (waning gibbous, 76% illuminated).
