Where: Milton Art Center, 334 Edge Hill Road, Milton

The 334 Gallery Committee at the Milton Art Center is pleased to present OpenUp its first of five shows for the 2017-2018 season. The OpenUp show kicks off the season exhibiting the artwork of artists working in the region. The show includes mostly two-dimensional work and provides a sample of a range of styles ranging from representational paintings capturing the natural environment to abstract expressionism. OpenUp provides an opportunity to view and experience the creative expression of regional artists, and explore how they capture and visually interpret our surroundings, personal relationships and feelings.  The work is relatable but also challenges the imagination. An opening reception is scheduled for Friday, October 13th from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The show runs through November 17th.

The 334 Gallery is a community run exhibit space and welcomes the participation of local and regional artists. The shows are curated by a dedicated group of volunteers who are actively working artists and are committed to the 334 Gallery as a community-based venue for individuals throughout the region to experience the visual arts. The venue provides a place to engage, find enjoyment and inspiration.

Following the OpenUp show, the 334 Gallery will be exhibiting small works. The show will open at the end of November and end a few days prior to Christmas. This show will have wide community appeal, providing an opportunity to find artwork to gift during the holiday season.  An invitational show highlighting the work of mid-career and established regional and national printmakers is scheduled in 2018. The print show will be followed by the gallery’s third annual juried show. Each of these shows is competitive and allows the gallery to comparatively highlight art excellence in the visual arts.

The 334 Gallery is part of the Milton Art Center, a non-profit community center offering education and art inspired events for all ages.  Its mission is to connect people through the power of the arts to inspire change and transform personal and local life. Classes in the visual arts are offered through the year along with musical, concert series and related events.
