Wotiz Gallery to feature Milton resident J.B. Clancy throughout this month

“Travel Sketches – Paris and Venice” exhibit to be showcased at Wotiz Gallery

During June 2018, the Milton Public Library is hosting a very talented artist in the Wotiz Gallery. Milton resident J.B. Clancy will present an exhibit called “Travel Sketches – Paris and Venice.” All the drawings in this show were done on location with a simple ink pen and sketch book, generally while sitting in a comfortable café. The subject may be a famous building or a barge on a canal. Yet the time spent looking is as important as the subject. J.B. believes drawing while traveling is the best way to observe the world around you. Spending time in one place and recording what you see impresses the sights and sounds of that place firmly into your memory.

J.B. studied architecture at a time when hand-drawing was still part of the education of an artchitect. While most of the work today is on a computer, J.B. still uses sketches and the drawing process to explore design ideas and in his work with clients. He is an architect and partner with Albert, Righter & Tittmann Architects in Boston. ART Architects practices the art and science of architecture throughout the northeast, designing houses in New England traditions with a focus on sustainability. J.B. is a Certified Passive House Consultant and designed Vermont’s first Certified Passive House. He is a graduate of Brown University and Yale School of Architecture. He lives in Milton with his artist wife Dana and their son Barron.
