Boston Guitar Orchestra presents live music at Eustis Estate
Boston Guitar Orchestra (BGO) to give their first concert in Milton
The Boston Guitar Orchestra (BGO) will give their first concert in Milton, at the Second Annual Blue Hills Great Estate Fall Foliage Weekend at Eustis Estate on Sunday November 4th, 2018, featuring their own arrangements of Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition, extracts from Bizet’s famous opera Carmen, Kindle’s Suite Rio de Janeiro, a, and Sir Karl Jenkin’s Palladio. It will be their first public concert in Milton though they regularly rehearse at the Walter Baker Building on Adams Street.
Maestro Dr Robert Bekkers is excited to bring the 16-member orchestra to Eustis, citing the acoustics of the wooden interior and high ceilings as a leading attraction. “As musicians, we are keen to share our music to new audiences in new spaces. Milton is literally over the bridge and next door to us. The pieces we will be playing span the history of Eustis Estate (1875 – present).”
Members of the BGO will be traveling from Rhode Island, New Hampshire, and various locations in Massachusetts to give a open rehearsal from 11:00 a.m. followed by two sets of 40-minute concerts at 1:30 p.m. at Eustis Estate, the day after their evening performance in Boston Classical Guitar Society’s Visiting Artist Series Concert at First Lutheran Church near Boston Common.
