Congregation Beth Shalom of the Blue Hills to host winter clothing drive
Volunteer with them for the “Lunch Bag Assembly”
As part of its “Third Thursday Community Service Mitzvah Program,” Congregation Beth Shalom of the Blue Hills will again be assembling 75 bag lunches at the synagogue for Father Bill’s Place, a homeless shelter in Quincy, Mass. on Thursday, December 20th, from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.. We will repeat this event on Thursday, January 17th, from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
All members of the community are heartily invited to volunteer and participate in either or both of these two events, helping to provide a meal for those in need in our communities. Father Bill’s has been helping our most vulnerable neighbors and friends who don’t have a home for over 30 years, serving individuals, veterans and families.
The Mitzvah Program of Congregation Beth Shalom of the Blue Hills, operating under the Jewish tenet that “doing good deeds is an obligation,” provides service to the community by both congregants and community members. It includes and welcomes other participants, including individuals, schools, houses of worship and community organizations.
