Wotiz Gallery to feature Sharon Armstrong throughout the month of August
Local photographer to showcase work at Wotiz Gallery
From August 2nd through the 31st, the Milton Public Library will host photographer Sharon Armstrong who is installing an exhibit of colorful beach images in our Wotiz Gallery. This exhibit will be called “Sights of Summer.” Sharon attended Cortland University, is originally from Duluth, MN, now lives in Sharon, MA, and her dad was in the Air Force so she traveled widely as a child. She was able to experience and enjoy visiting Spain, Holland, Germany, Greece, and Africa, and even though she was still too young to pick up a camera, she says she remembers the sights, sounds and smells of all of these countries well. By the time Sharon was 10 years old, she had received a “Brownie” camera as a gift, and ever since has enjoyed photography so that it became a lifelong passion. This is what she says about her photos: “I have always found my inspiration through traveling, and love capturing these moments. I decided to show my photography in 2018 and I am excited to showcase my work in the upcoming show.” The artist also spends time with a close friend who is a respected mobile artist on Martha’s Vineyard, so she is able to regularly embrace this beautiful place also using her own camera. Most of the photos in this display are from the Island, and we encourage everyone to come check out the first floor Gallery this month. This photography display will help us all to appreciate the beauty of a remote beach, the splendor of the ocean, and the lovely shades of colors made by nature, created by the movement of water in a spectacular landscape – great for this time of year. Viewing Sharon’s work is a perfect foray into summer and it will hopefully inspire all of us to take future vacations at the seaside!
