Milton High School student tests positive for COVID-19

Dear Parents, Guardians, and Staff:

This afternoon the Milton Public Schools received information from the Milton Health Department that a high school student tested positive on March 18, 2020 for the Coronavirus (COVID-19) after first experiencing symptoms on March 15, 2020. The student last attended Milton High School on March 12, 2020. No other schools have been impacted by this situation.

The Milton Public Schools is working collaboratively with the Milton Health Department to respond to this event. The Milton Health Department has reached out to the student and the student is isolating at home. In addition, the Milton Health Department has communicated with the family and all close contacts, and those individuals are quarantining at home at this time.

The Milton Public Schools is in the process of again fully cleaning and disinfecting all of its schools. All Milton Public Schools remain closed.

Caroline Kinsella, Milton Health Director, recommends that you monitor your child and if any symptoms are observed, please contact your child’s pediatrician. In addition, please refer to the mass.gov website or the Center for Disease Control for more information.
