Milton Farmers’ Market will not operate this season

The Milton Farmers’ Market posted the following message on its Facebook page:

“We regret to announce that the Milton Farmers Market will not operate this season. As you can imagine this was a very difficult decision for our management team. Seven of our vendors are not able to participate including our two largest farmers and our bakers. In these unprecedented times, the economic shock from Covid-19 has deeply impacted small businesses. Over the last two months we have explored alternative ways to operate: a reduced number of vendors at the market, a model of pre-order/pre-pay/pick-up, even a change of venue. Many Milton neighbors have helped us try to creatively reconfigure the market. Sadly, there was not an option that worked.

The good news is many of our vendors have online ordering, local pick-up and/or delivery. We encourage market friends to think about how best to support our vendor family where and when you can. In the next day or two, we will circulate our vendors’ contact information.

The planning for next year continues as we send this update. If you have an interest in being part of this longstanding, community asset, please contact us at [email protected]. We welcome your energy and ideas. Thank you for your support and stay safe.”
