COVID-19 Travel Order Effective August 1, 2020

Governor Charles D. Baker has issued a mandatory 14-day quarantine for all travelers entering Massachusetts, beginning August 1, 2020 until the state of emergency has ended or until the Order has been rescinded, whichever happens first.

Those who are exempt from this Order include:

  • a person who is coming from a COVID-19 low-risk state (as identified by the Commissioner) or,
  • a person has received a negative test result for COVID-19 from a test performed no longer than 72 hours before the person’s arrival in Massachusetts and can produce proof of the negative test result on request

Someone who has arrived in Massachusetts and is not exempt from the 14-day quarantine requirement must immediately quarantine themselves on arrival but can be released from quarantine if that person obtains a negative test result for COVID-19 after their arrival.

The Order applies to everyone, both residents and non-residents of Massachusetts.
