Superintendent’s Thanksgiving message

FROM THE DESK OF THE SUPERINTENDENT

I hope this communication finds you well and in good spirits.

I would like to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude to all Milton Public Schools families for your ongoing support. Your attentiveness to all communications, your participation in virtual meetings, your ongoing support of your children, and your critical feedback is truly appreciated and is essential to the overall success of the Milton Public Schools.  I know this year has not been easy, and it is definitely not what any of us expected or hoped for, but we all have to work together to make the best of it. Today marks the 47th day of this academic year, and although we have faced many challenges, I am optimistic that better days are coming.

In my email to MPS staff earlier today,  I expressed my gratitude to the MPS faculty and staff for their commitment, support, and professionalism during what is arguably one of the most challenging times in the history of our educational careers. I know many of you join me in this gratitude as I receive emails of thanks for our staff every single day.

To keep our community safe, healthy, and physically in school, we need your ongoing awareness and steadfast commitment to Protect the Paw!  Please refer to the COVID-19 page on the MPS website for all updated COVID -19 safety guidelines.  As a friendly reminder, please adhere to the MA travel guidelines and tips on Thanksgiving gatherings. Thank you for your continued vigilance around these health and safety guidelines.

As a reminder, our weekly drive-through for breakfast and lunch pick up is OPEN tomorrow, Wednesday, November 25. All families are welcome to come to Milton High School on any Wednesday from 9:30-10:30 and 12:30-1:30pm to pick up a week’s worth of breakfast and lunches.

If you are looking for a safe and fun family activity next month, Milton Community Schools has asked me to let you know about an upcoming virtual family event  – Holiday Wreath Making –  on December 9. Attendance is limited, so please sign up soon and join us for this fun family event!

Finally, I wanted to share how honored and thankful I am to work in one of the best communities in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, where the families are supportive of the schools and value their children’s education. It is truly special and I thank you for choosing the Milton Public Schools!

On behalf of all MPS faculty and staff, I would like to wish you a safe and enjoyable Thanksgiving holiday. Please enjoy our Thanksgiving video below.
