Healthy habits to help your small Business grow – Small Business Corner

If you are a small business owner, you are likely tightening up plans for the coming year, whether that means trying something new, maintaining the current course, or working to get things back on track. If you want to improve your small business, do not overwork yourself or neglect your personal needs. This will only lead to burnout, and could jeopardize your small business’s future. We have put together some tips to ensure that you are a healthy and happy small business owner in this new year!

Breakfast

It has been said that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Committing to a protein-rich breakfast will go a long way towards balancing your appetite and cravings, making it easier to make better food choices the rest of the day.

Exercise

Ideally, you want to strive for 30 minutes of exercise four times a week. But for small business owners with hectic lifestyles, that may feel like another chore. If that is the case, shoot for just 10 minutes a day. Jump on the treadmill or take a 10-minute walk on your lunch break—do anything to just get moving!

Set Boundaries

Whether you are working from home or in an office, you may be pushing yourself to work as many hours as possible. You might think that this will benefit your business, but in reality, it could become a disadvantage. Instead, you should establish a schedule and try to stick to it. This will help you complete necessary work tasks, while still allowing you to have a personal life.

Early to bed

Studies have shown that lack of sleep can lead to obesity, disease, and elevated stress levels. Getting enough sleep is one of the most beneficial things you can do for yourself. Commit to going to bed at a reasonable hour. Maybe even try reading before bed and you will likely fall asleep faster.

If you can embed new and positive habits into your daily work routine you will start to feel a weight off your shoulders. Adopt some of these habits, and you and your small business will be well on your way to a happier, healthier new year!
