Town Meeting: Municipal lighting plant passes, some Citizens Petitions fail

The last night of Town Meeting started off with Article 44-Establishment of a Municipal Lighting Plant. Those Town Meeting members who did speak uttered sentiments in favor of this article. Select Board member, Mike Zullas provided a presentation regarding the benefits of a municipal lighting plant for the town. The presentation can be viewed here. The motion carried, and the article passed.

Article 45-Amend Term of the Bylaw Review Committee passed. Articles 46 and 47 were Citizen Petitions. Both of these petitions failed when it came time for the votes. Article 48-Citizens Petition-Amend Zoning Bylaws Sections V (C) and VI (A)(5) passed. The green sheet for Article 48 can be viewed here.

Select Board Chairwoman, Melinda Collins spoke at the end, thanking everyone for their participation and dedication to the Warrant articles.

‘I’d like to thank the Warrant Committee for it’s dedicated work on this Warrant, for its spirited debate and perseverance for getting the Warrant into the best shape possible for this town meeting.”

Brian Walsh filled in for Bob Hiss and he thanked everyone for their participation and said that hopefully the next meeting will be held in person.
