Houseplants 101 program to take place Nov. 15 at Milton Public Library

The “Milton Grows” initiative also has an offsite (daytime) field trip planned for Tuesday, 11/15 which is called “Houseplants 101,” and the destination will be the Lyman Estate greenhouses located in Waltham.  Wishing you could transport the summer growing season permanently inside your home?  Houseplants can help, but choosing the right one for your home’s climate and light can really make a difference in the successful life of the plant.

Learn the basics of houseplants in this fun event, and for more details about the Lyman Estate and their greenhouses which date from 1804 to 1930, go to www.miltonlibrary.org where you can also register in advance.

The trip costs $20 per person to include a tour of both the Mansion (known as “The Vale”) and the greenhouses, plus a private coach bus ride to the Lyman Estate.

The bus will leave from the MPL at 9:15 a.m. and will return by 2:00 p.m.

This program is kindly sponsored by our Friends group, are free and open to the public, and some events are also supported by those grant-making agencies mentioned above and by Sustainable Milton.  For more information about any program, please Email [email protected] or call the Reference Dept. at (617) 898-4964.  We encourage you to come visit us for a fun event in November!
