Monthly Wednesday movie night featuring “The Color Purple” at Milton public library on June 12, 2024

The Monthly Wednesday Movie for Adults is scheduled for June 12, starting at 6:15 p.m. and the film is: “The Color Purple.” This is a 2023 musical remake of a wonderful story of love and resilience. It is a decades spanning tale of one woman’s journey to independence.

The main character, Celie, lives in rural Georgia and the title comes from a line the character Shug Avery says towards the end of the story: “I think it pisses God off if you walk by the color purple in a field somewhere and don’t notice it.”

For more details about the movie, go to our website at www.miltonlibrary.org and click on “events” from the main page.

There is no signup required so just please come at 6:15 p.m. to our Keys Community Room. The running time is 141 minutes and the rating is PG 13 because of “mature thematic content” so the film is not suitable for children.

This event is kindly sponsored by the Friends of the Milton Public Library and is free and open to all.

We hope you will consider joining us for a fun presentation or class in June!
