“The Woman King” movie to be screened Feb. 19 at the Milton Public Library

The February Monthly Wednesday Movie for Adults will be: The Woman King.

It will be screened on Wednesday, Feb. 19, starting at 6:00 p.m. in our Keys Community Room. This film stars Oscar-winner Viola Davis as General Nanisca as she trains the next generation of recruits and readies them for battle against an enemy determined to destroy their way of life in the African Kingdom of Dahomney in the 1800s.

This is a remarkable true story of the Agojie, the all-female unit of warriors who protected the kingdom with skills and fierceness. Some things are worth fighting for! Please join us for an excellent film, which was rated 99% by audiences at the website Rotten Tomatoes.

No sign-up is required so just come and join us. (The movie is rated PG-13 for human trafficking and battleground violence, so is not appropriate for young children.) The running time is 2 hours and 15 minutes.
